Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Gujranwala Board

BISE Gujranwala was found in 1976. After the formation of BISE Lahore, a lot of candidates were appearing in exams so it was felt that new boards are to be formed. Hence Board of Inter and secondary education, Gujaranwala is one of these boards.


It has authority to conduct exams in the areas which comes under the districts of Gujranwala, Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin, hafizabad, Sialkot and Narowal.


  • Likewise other Boards, BISE Gujranwala is also capable of issuing certificates in Matriculation and Intermediate. It awards in Science and Arts in Matriculation. In intermediate, it grants certificates in Pre-engineering, Pre-medical, Commerce, and Computer Science.
  • Exams are held from April to June in different institutes under the order the Board. Results are announced near August and September.
  • Students must pass both Matriculation and Inter to get admission in professional universities. Passing marks be at least 33%.
  • Teachers are hired to check exam papers of the students by the Board. Exam papers are enrolled with different number than roll number of the students so that teachers may not check unfairly for their relatives or so. 

Hierarchy of the Board 
The Board (governing body) of Gujranwala controls all matters of its office in its jurisdiction and it comprises of The Chairman (head of the Board), Vice-Chancellor of a university (who takes orders from Chairman only), District Officers, Director of technical Education and other members too. The chairman of this board is Mehr Bashir Ahmed.

Note: BISE Gujranwala 9th class Result 2013 is expected to announce on 21 August. You will able to check your result at our website.   

Papers are not checked in the same board office. BISE Lahore has organized that exam papers must be shuffled within different board offices. So they are sent to other Board offices not knowing which board they are being sent. But papers are given special numbers by which they are identified.
